Education: Ohio State University
Dr. Bill Ditchik knew he wanted to be a veterinarian ever since the age of five. He grew up in Freehold, NJ and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from Rutgers, The State University of NJ. Upon admission, Dr. Ditchik was awarded a full scholarship to Rutgers, the Presidential Scholarship, one of only three individuals to receive this prestigious award. As an undergraduate, Dr. Ditchik became involved with The Seeing Eye program and helped raise dogs for the blind community. He was the recipient of multiple academic awards and graduated from Rutgers with Magna Cum Laude honors.
This past year, Dr. Ditchik received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, and graduated within the top third of his class. In Columbus, OH, Dr. Ditchik served as president of the Buckeyes for Greyhounds organization, a student-run club devoted to rehabilitating injured racing dogs and finding them new homes. He currently lives with one of these ex-racers, a goofy greyhound named "Rockdown Rey" (or Rey for short), and is very passionate about greyhound medicine and behavior. Dr. Ditchik enjoys spending his free time in Long Island with Rey and his two younger siblings - Conner, 8 years old, and Kaitlyn, 5 years old.
