Education: Massey University, New Zealand

Dr. Jeremy Lancer grew up in Melville, NY and, by the young age of seven, he already decided on a career. His path to becoming a veterinarian began in high school when he volunteered at local veterinary clinics and a wildlife rehabilitation center. Dr. Lancer attended Binghamton University and received a BS in psychobiology in 2003. While in college, Dr. Lancer played lacrosse, worked as a resident assistant, volunteered at animal shelters and was a member of two ambulance corps. After graduation, he worked as a veterinary assistant in general and referral veterinary practices before moving to New Zealand for veterinary school.

Dr. Lancer graduated from Massey University, an AVMA-accredited veterinary school, in 2009. He then spent two years working in a rural mixed practice, treating everything from dogs and cats to sheep and goats. He returned to Long Island in 2012 and completed an intensive year-long internship at the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island, receiving multiple awards for his work. Dr. Lancer’s interests include preventative care, clinical pathology, behavior, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, nutrition, and infectious disease.

Dr. Lancer has a Pit bull named Logan and two cats named Tui and Kea.  He currently resides in Huntington with his wife Alexis, a primatologist, and their son Leo. In his free time Dr. Lancer enjoys cars, tech, and out-door activities.
