A veterinary specialist is a veterinarian who has received board-certification in their respective discipline. To become a specialist, a veterinarian must complete 4 years of veterinary school, followed by (in most cases) a 1-year internship and a 2-4 year residency. The process is very rigorous and competitive; Each year hundreds of individuals are rejected from residency programs. Once the required credentials are met and approved by the respective veterinary specialty board, the individual becomes a “Diplomate” of the specialty.
Our veterinary specialists will work with your primary veterinarian, if you have one, to formulate the best course of action for your pet. Our specialists practice the highest level of medicine with the most advanced and cutting edge equipment.
